Gas Chromatographic Analysis of Ethyl Ethylthiosulfonate
The composition and thermal stability of crude ethyl ethylthiosulfonate were studied by gas chromatography. On the basis of peak height, Plate number and peak tailing, a column of 15% neopentyl glycol succinate was chosen. From the results of thermal stability tests, the mechanism of thermal degradation was verified and thereby the suitable temperatures of column and sample introduction part were determined. The main component and the impurities present were identified by their retention values as well as GCMS technique. Quantitative analysis was carried out by methods of normalization, internal standard and standardization curve, all with relative errors within 2%. The method can be used for routine analysis in production contro to replace. the classical Chemical methods.
